Basic Knife Forging Class with Paracord Wrapped Handle
In this hands-on class at North Woods Forge, you will learn the fundamental techniques of forging a basic knife from raw steel. Under expert guidance, you will shape, heat, and hammer your blade to achieve a functional and durable design. After the blade is formed, you will finish the project by wrapping the handle with paracord, creating a comfortable and secure grip. This class covers essential blacksmithing skills, safety procedures, and offers a unique chance to create your own custom knife. No prior experience necessary. All materials and tools are provided.
Class will start at 10am and we will break for lunch sometime around noon. Please bring a sack lunch. There is a pub about 3 miles down the road that has pretty decent food. Water is available at the shop. Class should end around 6-7 pm on average. Please wear proper clothing and personal protection equiptment. Such as safety glasses, 100 percent cotton clothing, leather shoes or boots, hearing protection, and gloves if you so choose. I do have glasses and glove available.
